I’m sure a photographer with a camera, a tripod is ok, but I bought a camera and quickly discovered that you have the money for a better ausgegeben.Der quick release tripod head does not work very well with my camera and I had two my camera from the tripod to fall fangen. Also is essentially the doctrine was not cheap when you buy a tripod for a camcorder. In 1978 I bought a Minolta SLR XG9, lentils, a ton of accessories, Cokin filters and then a few years ago, the original Slik U-212, with dials on the green side, not later with a red line. . The Slik was $ 80. 00 brand new store to the local machine. There are about 1500 euro. 00 carcasses in this system, more stuff to buy if they could afford. . It ‘too easy to buy photographic equipment dependence, and the kiddies who can not sign a cheapie digital camera, what they missed. . Shooting on film was a completely different. . Had to really learn much, because you never know how it turns out your shots until you returned your photos or slides. . So in my mind, there’s just something to shoot the film, as with records from CDs or digital music files. . There are no more disputes are involved, need more equipment. . During the turntable 30 years you can not play CDs. . A 30-year-old stand works well with a modern digital camera. . the oldest stand about will never be exceeded, until the cameras, universal mounting, threaded at ground level. . In the early 1990s, when short of money, in a fit of madness, but of necessity, I sold my entire system of 35 mm, including Slik to a friend. . and gave me back all last week, for free!. . because my friend had not used for years and had kept everything in her closet. . The Slik still in their original packaging!. . It ‘was like seeing an old friend who had for many years. . Now I use it once more with digital cameras. . Plus – the U212 is a classic design, since the late 80s or 70s. . adjustable in almost every way. . very thoughtful features such as parking for a further post-hole camera assembly. . large, fast-ball action top-level window, instead of a small air bubble in water. . independent legs that are not connected to the elevator instead of the center, that is to say that they have an almost infinite number of positions. . Leve Slik’s leg extension faster. . rare at that time, the norm today. . The only “no change” design of the legs, large, easy to use and control buttons – you can do nothing to stop them even when wearing gloves, without a problem. . I could say much more to build, but the quality is first class, the materials are excellent, and I like it and can not understand why I’ve never had to buy a different make or model of tripod. . It ‘was a radical new project then and now a classic. . A couple of drawbacks – mainly metal, six pounds, is a bit ‘on the heavy side. . At this price point, it should come with the bag in the box. . not. . It must also address any of the legs for use anywhere. . not, so that after you crank and fold it back down, you can bring a little ‘bulky. . where does exactly want to keep it that way, do not mash your fingers. . unless you buy the optional pocket. . or any other stock exchange which will take place, this is problematic. . After many years there in the box in a closet, the glue holding the rubber mat for the head pan / camera platform and fell. . I will only hit, with a lower pad glue gun and that should therefore carefully. . No product is perfect and much cheaper AK2OS Chinese Vanguard I received as a gift a year or two is far from garbage. . It has some features thoughtul (gadget bag hooks, strong, well-centered handle, remove heavy duty bag in the box, the ability to view the entire head and mount it,) a car window. . I would like to “graft” on Slik U-212. . For some, this may be a minus sign, for others maybe not, but it would be nice to have a gadget bag hooks somewhere on Slik. . But while virtually no waste, the vanguard feels only economic for me, although it seems that the designers, the U-212 Slik studied. . and learned some things about how you make a tripod. . The fact that even the first circa 1980 Slik U-212s, at a certain, well-known auction house for almost the same price as a new one, and the fact that more still coming around Slik and sold, and that recent incarnation not has hardly changed from their ancestors, 1980, confirmed that claim. . if there is demand, which would sell used for peanuts. . Slik, or I would have set. . is not so. . and they did not. . As I said before, is not perfect, then I will give only four stars for the lack of a bag hooks, a carrying handle, and bag in the box. . No complaints about the manner in which it is active, the number of his choice, and the design of the handles and levers, all useful for me. . If I had to give up would be one of the two stands, go to Vanguard, and I had my 1980 about maintaining Slik U-212. . Despite these features are missing, this is a classic design, each camera on the mother should be proud to own, and that you like. . I’m glad I came back. . Rating: 4 / 5
